Rhinoplasty
Nose surgery, also known as “rhinoplasty,” is a procedure designed to improve the size and shape of the nose and/or correct breathing problems associated with the nasal passage. As the central feature of the face, the nose plays a significant role in determining overall facial harmony. Rhinoplasty helps create a nose that is in balance with the rest of the face by correcting the unsatisfactory results of genetic deformities or traumatic nose injuries.
Chin Surgery
Chin augmentation and reduction is surgery that we often perform in this clinic. The jaw is very pertinent to perception of gender to patients; a heavy jawline indicates a masculine face and a weak or recessive jawline appears feminine or even gormless and planning a new contour is much about facial harmony as it is about sense of self for patients.

Injectable Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty, the surgical straightening and shaping of the nose, is one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures in Australia. Injectable rhinoplasty can be a modern alternative to surgery, providing results without some of the risks associated with surgery.

Everyone is different and can range from one to four hours depending on the complexity of the procedure. Revision rhinoplasty is far more complex and can take longer.
Dr Mooney and the pre-operative nurse will go through all of your operative planning a couple of weeks before your rhinoplasty procedure. Some food stuffs such as chilli, garlic and galangal do increase prolonged bruising.
It is a very safe procedure; the greatest risk is a very rare vascular occlusion. Dr Mooney has not seen this but is prepared for its occurrence and will treat appropriately.
Everybody is different, we make this decision based on the volume to be filled and the skin type of the patient.
Results are immediate but minor swelling and bruising may remain for a few days.
Augmentation can be performed in a scarless fashion trans orally or via small incision under the chin. The chin implant we use is a soft silicone implant and it has been used successfully many times in clinic since 2000 without complication.
Chin surgery (reduction, implant & injectable) is typically a purely cosmetic procedure and cannot be claimed via Medicare or private health fund.
